As we build our operations from the ground up, were looking for passionate, driven individuals to join our founding team and help shape a dynamic, people-first workplace.We are seeking a hands-on SMT Quality Engineer to join our new manufacturing facility. In this role, you will establish and execute our quality control standards from incoming materials (IQC) to in-process assembly (IPQC). You will be the technical lead for the quality lab, performing advanced failure analysis (cross-sectioning, XRF) and driving root-cause solutions for SMT process abnormalities.Key Responsibilities:- Incoming and In-Process Quality Control (IQC/IPQC):- - Implement and manage inspection standards for IQC (Incoming Quality Control) to ensure raw materials meet specifications before warehousing. - Execute IPQC (In-Process Quality Control) on the SMT line, monitoring critical control points (solder paste printing, pick-and-place, reflow) to prevent defects. - Apply AQL (Acceptable Quality Limit) sampling standards for rigorous batch testing of components and assemblies.- Lab Analysis and Measurement:- - Operate advanced metrology and inspection tools including OMM (Optical Measuring Machine), XRF (X-ray Fluorescence), Altimeters, and LCR meters. - Conduct destructive physical analysis (DPA), specifically cross-sectioning of IPQC samples, to verify solder joint integrity and PCB fabrication quality in the lab.- Quality Engineering and Problem Solving:- - Lead investigations into production quality issues using 8D Reports and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies. - Utilize the 7 QC Tools to analyze defects and implement corrective/preventative actions (CAPA). - Handle SMT process abnormalities immediately to minimize line downtime and scrap.- Data Analysis and Process Improvement:- - Conduct daily data analysis of IPQC findings to identify trends and potential risks. - Apply SPC (Statistical Process Control) to monitor process stability and MSA (Measurement System Analysis) / GRandR to ensure gauge accuracy.Qualifications and Requirements:- Education: Bachelors degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.- Experience:- - 2-3 years of quality management experience in a manufacturing environment. - SMT (Surface Mount Technology) working experience is highly preferred.- Technical Proficiency:- - Hands-on experience with measurement tools: OMM, XRF, Altimeters, LCR meters. - Strong knowledge of IPC standards (IPC-A-610) and SMT assembly processes. - Proficient in quality tools: SPC, MSA, GRandR, FMEA, 8D.- Core Competencies:- - Deep understanding of AQL sampling standards and inspection logic. - Ability to interpret Gerber files, BOMs, and engineering drawings. - Strong analytical skills to translate quality data into actionable process improvements.Apply now by sending your resume and a brief cover letter to with the subject line: Quality Control Engineer Application - Fort Worth.
