Primary Function of Organizational Unit The Department of Language and Literature is responsible for teaching GEC courses in English, Foreign Languages, Humanities, and Philosophy. The department also houses degree programs in English, Foreign Languages, and Interdisciplinary Studies. Primary Purpose of Position To teach General Education courses in Philosophy, especially Ethics. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities The faculty member must have credentials to teach courses in Philosophy, Ethics in particular. The position requires skills in classroom management of classes of approximately 35 students. Use of technological tools such as Canvas is required. Minimum Education/Experience M.A degree in Philosophy or a related field with a minimum of 18 hours of relevant graduate coursework. Experience Teaching Courses in Introductory Philosophy and/or Ethics. Licenses or Certification required by Statute or Regulation No licenses or Certification required.
