Adjunct Faculty - Class Piano and Applied Piano Lessonsu00a0Department: Musicu00a0Location: Grand Rapids, MIu00a0The College is interested in seeking candidates to teach Class Piano and Applied Piano Lessons in the Winter semester at our downtown campus.u00a0The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a commitment to student success, ensuring a high-quality learning experience for all students.u00a0Adjunct needs are determined on a semester by semester basis, as are the number of sections offered each semester. GRCC classes are held at a variety of times, Monday through Saturday in different modalities such as Hybrid, Online & Virtual. For semester start and end dates, see GRCC's Academic Calendar.u00a0Requisition ID: 1020Employee Group:Fall SemesterCompensation: to: Associate Dean - School of Liberal ArtsPosting Opens: 09/24/2025u00a0Posting Closes: Open until filledu00a0ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSu00a0u2022 Teach applied private lessons to music majors, general college students, and community members.u2022 Teach class piano to music majors (Introduction to Piano, Piano Techniques 1, Piano Techniques 2, Piano Techniques 3, and/or Piano Techniques 4) as needed.u2022 Perform tasks normally expected of adjunct faculty members:u2022 Follow the required syllabus template.u2022 Meet classes during the time scheduled and for the appropriate length of time required by the Collective Bargaining Agreement.u2022 State course outcomes clearly at the beginning of the course and state the criteria and procedures for evaluating student attainment of these objectives.u2022 Promote an intellectually stimulating atmosphere in the classroom which is conducive to the attainment of high academic achievement and stated course outcomes.u2022 Keep accurate student academic records.u2022 Report grades by contractual deadline.u2022 Make reasonable accommodations as approved by the Disability Support Services to meet students' needs and in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).u2022 Follow College policy on the Family Educational Right to Privacy Act (FERPA).u2022 Make all reasonable efforts to respond to communication in a timely manner and provide reasonable means for student access to course information.u00a0JOB SPECIFICATIONSu00a0Qualificationsu00a0u2022 Master's degree in Music is preferred, however, applicants with a Bachelor's Degree in Music and extensive professional experience will be considered.u2022 Teaching experience at a community college preferred.u2022 Participation in professional development and/or continuous improvement activities in order to remain current in the field.u00a0Skillsu00a0u2022 Demonstrated expertise in the subject area and a commitment to continuous professional development.u2022 Excellent piano performance and pedagogical skills.u2022 Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.u2022 Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population and faculty team.u2022 Proficiency in using instructional technology and learning management systems (e.g.,Gma
