ER Veterinary Assistant- Per DiemWelcome to Animal Emergency & Specialty Center (AESC)! We are a 24/7 Emergency Care Veterinary Hospital with 7 different Specialties. The AESC Team is growing, and we are seeking motivated, positive and compassionate individuals to join our team. Our Nursing staff is essential and important to us, just as the care they provide to the pets and clients in our community. We are offering competitive wages, opportunities for professional growth, and a supportive environment with an empathic and positive Management team.About the Role:Emergency and Critical Care Assistants (ER/ECC) play a vital support role in providing urgent and intensive care to animals in critical conditions under the supervision of veterinarians and registered veterinary pensation:$18 - $23 depending on experience+$2.50/ per hour shift differential for hours worked between 6pm-6amAnticipated Schedule:Per Diem Essential Job Functions:Prepare exam rooms for each visit, including tools needed for each exam.Retrieve patient charts from client services or referring department on behalf of the technicians when asked.Obtain other vitals, lab work, and diagnostics as needed per doctors or technician orders.Perform and assist with all aspects of animal restraint for exams and procedures.Care for hospitalized patients - administer medications, monitor vital signs, other duties as ordered by the treating veterinarian or treating ER technicianClean kennels, runs, wet tables and all other areas of the treatment area and hospital as needed.Assist in Ultrasound if needed.LaundryBasic grooming as needed.Other duties as needed.QualificationsMinimum Requirements:At least ONE YEAR of veterinary assistant experience is REQUIRED to be considered for this role!High school diploma or equivalent.Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!Preferred Qualifications:Two years of experience as a veterinary assistant with job responsibilities that required animal restraint and taking radiographsExperience in a emergency/specialty settingKnowledge of EasyVet or similar medical record systems.Why Choose AESC?Work alongside a compassionate, dedicated team of veterinary professionals.Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.Make a direct impact on the lives of pets and their families during critical times.Receive continuous training and growth opportunities—were passionate about teaching!Enjoy a competitive salary and benefits package.How to ApplySubmit your application online.
