As an essential part of our hospital, our technicians play a vital role, using their skills and expertise to provide exceptional care for patients and compassionate support for clients. At MissionVet, youll find a place where your knowledge and talents are genuinely pensation:$20 - $27 depending on experienceSchedule:Full TimeTuesday - Friday7:30am - 5:30pmKey Responsibilities:Patient Care & Client CommunicationSafely restrain pets for exams, procedures, imaging, and treatmentsLift pets up to 50 lbs (with assistance)Obtain patient vitals and medical history (illnesses, surgeries, medications, etc.)Administer medications (oral, topical, injectable, controlled substances) as directedTeach clients how to administer medications and subcutaneous fluids at homeCommunicate patient status with doctors, team members, and clientsDocument all client communications and medical care in patient recordsImaging & DiagnosticsOperate digital radiography (portable and stationary units)Use imaging software (VetRocket, Vets Choice Radiology, YourView)Transfer images via email, CD, or USBCollect and process lab samples (blood, urine)Perform in-house lab tests (PCV/TP, CBC, chemistries) and submit to reference labsUpdate test results and ensure accurate invoicingSurgical Support & AnesthesiaPrepare surgical packs and operating room suitesInduce, maintain, and monitor sedation/anesthesiaAssist in surgery: patient prep, instrument setup, scrubbing in, surgical support, and post-op careBreak down and clean operating rooms and equipment post-surgeryClean and sterilize surgical instruments; operate autoclaveComplete surgical paperwork and enter treatments into SmartflowGeneral Duties & Equipment MaintenanceCalculate drug dosages and CRIs as directed by DVMPrepare patients for discharge, ensuring grooming and medical readinessRestock supplies for daily operationsMaintain anesthesia machines and monitors; report issues promptlyAccurately document services and associated charges for billingOther Duties:Assist other departments when necessary and/or when directed by management.Assist kennel personnel in keeping patients clean and dry at all times.Maintain cleanliness and order in all areas of the hospital.Perform daily and weekly cleaning duties.Assist with inventoryInform the inventory manager of needed supplies.Unpack boxes of medical supplies.Check packing list and expiration dates.Who Were Looking For:Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVT) 2-4 years of veterinary technician experience is required Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plusThe ability to thrive under pressure and make informed decisions in fast-paced situations.A genuine passion for animal care and a commitment to patient well-being.Why Choose MissionVet Specialty & Emergency (MVS)!Our multi-disciplinary hospital was founded in 2012 as a sister hospital of Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists.
