What Accounting contributes to Cardinal HealthFinance oversees the accounting, tax, financial plans and policies of the organization, establishes and maintains fiscal controls, prepares and interprets financial reports, oversees financial systems and safeguards the organization's assets.Accounting establishes and maintains accounting policies and controls, completes technical research, safeguards the organization's assets and ensures accuracy of accounting and financial records in accordance with accounting standards.Job SummaryThe Cost Accountant reports to the Site Controller and provides support to plant departments in matters of cost, budget, and inventory control and assists in analyzing standard costs and budget variances. This is an onsite role requiring 5 days per week at our plant in Deland, FL.Responsibilities Perform general accounting dutiesPrepare assorted financial reports and schedulesPrepare general ledger transactionsProvide plant financial resources to corporate inquiresPerform cost accounting related BPCS maintenanceSystems development, implementation and maintenanceAssist with calculating and tracking monthly cost savings projectsAnalyze product scrap rates, labor rates and machine ratesReview, Analyze and Adjust bill of materials and/or routersAnalyze standard cost variances related to material purchase price, material usage and labor utilizationProduct cost development - prepare cost quotes as needed for new and extended product linesAssist with inventory audits and analyze information for reporting, forecasting and budgeting purposesProvide daily/weekly financial updatesAssist with monthly account reconciliationsPrepare and present monthly financial results, financial risks, and opportunitiesPrepare and present quarterly financial forecastManage SOX compliant daily cycle count program, research and issue resolutionManage month end close process - develop schedule, prepare journal entries, prepare reconciliations and monthly reportsPerform annual performance appraisalsAnnual budget preparation and presentationAnnual standard cost preparation and cost load into BPCSMaintain SOX complianceServe as a backup function to the Plant ControllerFollow all ISO 9002, ISO 13485 standards, GMP, OSHA and plant/corporate policies and proceduresObserve all safety precautions and regulations at all times in all areas where duties are performedReport all safety hazards and potential unsafe working conditionsOther duties as assigned with or without accommodationQualificationsBachelor’s degree in related field, preferred, or equivalent work experience, preferred5+ years’ experience in related field, preferredCPA (Certified Public Accountant), preferredUnderstanding of FDA regulations surrounding the manufacturing of medical devices, and GMPs, preferredExperience with Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing tools, preferredProficient in document and spreadsheet software packagesAbility to plan, organize, and prioritize to meet deadlinesStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to motivate, coach and develop othersStrong problem solving skillsAttentive to detailTeam player - ability to work independently and with a team to accomplish goalsAnticipated salary range:$70,400 - $100,500Bonus eligible:NoBenefits:Cardinal Health offers a wide variety of benefits and programs to support health and well-being.Medical, dental and vision coveragePaid time off planHealth savings account (HSA)401k savings planAccess to wages before pay day with myFlexPayFlexible spending accounts (FSAs)Short- and long-term disability coverageWork-Life resourcesPaid parental leaveHealthy lifestyle programsApplication window anticipated to close:4/15/2026 if interested in opportunity, please submit application as soon as possible.The salary range listed is an estimate.
