Civil Engineer (EIT) - Land DevelopmentLocation: Sussex County, Delaware Department: Civil / Land Development Employment Type: Full-TimeAbout the RoleWe are seeking a motivated Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our Land Development team. This role offers hands-on exposure to the full project lifecycle, from due diligence and site design through permitting and construction support. You will work closely with licensed professional engineers, planners, and project managers on residential, commercial, and mixed-use development projects.This position is ideal for an engineer looking to build a strong technical foundation while working toward professional licensure.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in the design and preparation of site development plans, including grading, drainage, and utility layoutsPerform stormwater management calculations and support hydrologic and hydraulic modelingPrepare and revise erosion and sediment control (E&S) plans in accordance with local and state regulationsDevelop engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3DSupport due diligence efforts, including site feasibility studies and coordination of environmental constraintsAssist with permit applications and agency coordination at the local, state, and federal levelsParticipate in construction administration, including RFIs, submittal reviews, and field observationsCoordinate with internal teams and external consultants to ensure project accuracy and complianceMaintain organized project documentation and adhere to quality control standardsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related disciplineEngineer in Training (EIT) certification required or ability to obtain within 6 months0-4 years of experience in land development or site civil engineeringWorking knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3DBasic understanding of site grading, stormwater design, and utility systemsFamiliarity with local zoning, subdivision, and permitting processes is a plusStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, collaborative environmentPreferred Skills (Not Required)Experience with hydrology and hydraulic software (e.g., HydroCAD, HEC-RAS)Exposure to residential, commercial, or mixed-use development projectsInternship or co-op experience in civil/site engineeringInterest in pursuing Professional Engineer (PE) licensureWhat We OfferCompetitive salary and benefits packageMentorship from experienced Professional EngineersClear path for technical growth and PE licensure supportExposure to diverse land development projectsCollaborative team environment with long-term career opportunities
