Assists with customer service, merchandising, inventory control, and other related activities for Tarnished Truth Distilling Company’s small gift shop located within the Historic Cavalier Hotel. This position supports the day-to-day activities, routine stock management, customer service activities and provides input into policies and procedures. Works directly with management to ensure compliance of state and federal laws relating to distilled spirits sales within the gift shop.Responsibilities of Gold Key|PHR hourly Associates:Leading daily distillery tours & bourbon tastings with enthusiasm and knowledgeOperation of a computerized POS system for retail sales, cash-handling, sales reportsPerforms direct retail sales, hitting monthly sales metricsWork with management to manage inventory, restocking of the retail floor, and maintaining high standards in visual merchandising on the retail floorProvide excellent customer service to guests, project confidence in interacting with guests and VIPsContribute to a positive working environment, as we are a small team of 3 but work closely with other departments within the distillery, the Hunt Room, & the CavalierPerforms computerized cash register sales transactions and cash managementAssists with the development and implementation of policies, and procedures consistent with those of the organizationProvides sales coordination and performs direct sales and customer serviceMonitors sales through the cash register; resolves discrepancies, prepares, reconciles, and records cash receipts for deposit, and prepares sales reportsMonitors and coordinates ordering, receipt, and return of merchandise and/or equipment.Monitors general housekeeping cleanliness within the area; ensures that equipment and facilities remain in good repair, and that employee and customer safety standards are maintainedPerforms miscellaneous job-related duties as assignedPerforms all state and federal required reports for sales of Distilled spirits within the gift shopPreferred Attributes:Candidate has strong problem solving skills & shows initiativeProficiency in Excel & WordCandidate has interest in being involved with the retail store as it grows/interest in working with management in development & implementation of policiesCandidate is 'coachable,' open to ongoing learning regarding distillery & retail operationsCandidate is comfortable and confident in public speaking, brings high energy to guest & associate interactions*Must be at least 21 Years Old*At least 2 years of retail sales experienceMust be willing and able to work Tuesday - SundayKnowledge of mathematics, cash management principles and/or proceduresKnowledge of customer service standards and proceduresKnowledge of retail stock management and control principles and proceduresKnowledge of retail floor sales techniques, retail advertising, sales promotion and/or visual merchandising techniquesAbility to analyze and solve problems, ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety proceduresAbility to summarize and reconcile retail sales and operating statistics, and to prepare routine statistical reportsAbility to reconcile retail sales and operating statistics, and to prepare routine statistical reportsAbility to operate a computerized cash registerAbility to foster a cooperative work environment and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
