Job Title: Inova Fairfax Hospital - Medical Director for Pediatric Cardiac AnesthesiologyOverview:Medical Director - Pediatric Cardiac AnesthesiologyThe Department of Anesthesiology at Inova Fairfax Hospital is looking for a board-certified Pediatric/Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologistto lead, help grow and provide services in Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology at Inova Children’s Heart Center. The prospective candidate will join a collaborative team of 5 pediatric cardiac anesthesiologists, 2 pediatric cardiac surgeons, 2 interventional cardiologists, and 2 pediatric electrophysiologists. The team on average performs 150 cardio-pulmonary bypass cases, 300 pediatric heart catheterizations, and 125 pediatric EP cases annually.Anesthesiology FeaturesPediatric Cardiac surgical cases includethe complete spectrum of pediatric heart disease for cardiac and non-cardiac based procedures except heart transplantationMixed practice (pediatric/adult) with a majority of pediatric cardiac and pediatric general casesOther cases may include the entire spectrum of pediatric and adult surgical cases (general, ENT, ortho, neurosurgery, ophtho, dental, urology, GE and OB)Participation in call rotationWork with a team of 60+ Anesthesiologists, most with fellowship training (Pediatric, Adult Cardiac, Obstetric, and Pain)Solo or care team model with CRNAsAcademic appointment opportunities available through the University of Virginia. Further, educational opportunities include ability to work with medical students and residents (UVA and Walter Reed).RequirementsMD or DO from an accredited university medical school, completed ACGME residency training and subsequent fellowshipABA certification in Anesthesiology and Pediatric AnesthesiologyComprehensive experience in pediatric cardiac anesthesiaLicensure: Current or eligibility for an unrestricted Virginia state medical license and DEAPrior leadership experienceCompensationThis position offers a nationally competitive compensation package,based on experience and includes a generous incentive package with a sign on bonus, yearly qualityand performance incentives, possiblenon-clinical time for leadership position and more.
