Description Tammy Power with Robert Half is looking for a dedicated and experienced Controller to oversee the accounting and financial operations of a well-established organization in the agriculture and food production industry. This role offers the opportunity to lead a dynamic team, manage multi-entity accounting processes, and provide valuable financial insights to support strategic decision-making. Responsibilities: u2022 Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, fixed assets, and inventory accounting. u2022 Supervise the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring the preparation of accurate and compliant financial statements. u2022 Develop and maintain cost accounting systems aligned with farming, harvesting, and processing activities. u2022 Collaborate with operational teams to analyze production costs, yield performance, labor utilization, and other key financial metrics. u2022 Oversee the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing forecasting to support financial planning. u2022 Implement and enhance internal controls, accounting procedures, and financial systems to ensure efficiency and compliance. u2022 Coordinate and support audits, manage banking relationships, and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. u2022 Mentor and lead the accounting team, fostering attention to detail and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. u2022 At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with preference for backgrounds in agriculture, food production, or manufacturing. u2022 Strong expertise in cost accounting and multi-entity financial management. u2022 Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial systems. u2022 Excellent analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both operational and executive teams. u2022 Proven leadership abilities, with experience in team development and mentorship. u2022 Solid understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements. u2022 Familiarity with agricultural cost structures, crop costing, or seasonal labor models is highly desirable.
