If Claims Examiner sounds like something you would be interested in, and you meet the qualifications listed below, apply now Key Responsibilities u00b7 Analyze and process complex or technically challenging workersu2019 compensation claims by conducting thorough investigations, gathering critical information, and determining claim exposure. Develop and manage action plans to drive appropriate and timely resolution. u00b7 Negotiate settlements within designated authority levels. u00b7 Calculate and assign accurate and timely reserves; ensure reserve adequacy throughout the life of each claim. u00b7 Calculating and issue benefits; approve and process timely claim payments, adjustments, and settlements within authority limits. u00b7 Prepare and submit required state filings within statutory deadlines. u00b7 Manage the litigation process, ensuring timely, costu2011effective resolution of litigated claims. u00b7 Coordinate vendor referrals for additional investigations, surveillance, medical management, or litigation support. u00b7 Utilize costu2011containment strategies, including partnerships with designated vendors, to reduce overall claim costs. u00b7 Manage claim recoveries, including subrogation, Second Injury Fund recoveries, excess recoveries, and Social Security/Medicare offsets. u00b7 Report applicable claims to excess carriers and respond promptly and professionally to requests for information or direction. u00b7 Maintain regular communication with claimants and clients regarding claim status; ensure strong and professional client relationships. u00b7 Ensure accurate documentation and proper claim coding for all assigned files. u00b7 Refer cases to supervisors or management when appropriate based on complexity or authority guidelines. Required Skills: u00b7 Subject matter expertise in workersu2019 compensation insurance principles, state laws, claims handling procedures, disability duration guidelines, and costu2011containment practices (including medical management). u00b7 Strong understanding of recoveries, offsets, deductions, and Social Security/Medicare processes relevant to claims. u00b7 Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations. u00b7 Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other PC-based applications. u00b7 Strong analytical and interpretive skills. u00b7 Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail. u00b7 Effective interpersonal and relationship-building skills. u00b7 Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence outcomes within authority limits. u00b7 Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. u00b7 Ability to meet or exceed service expectations consistently.
