Mechanical Project Engineer

Senior or Principal Project Engineer A growing engineering organization in the Orlando, Florida metro area is seeking a highly motivated Senior or Principal-level Project Engineer to join its expanding team. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping the success of a new Florida office while contributing to highu2011profile projects in the Amusement, Entertainment, and Aerospace industries. The work focuses on show action equipment, dynamic ride systems, and missionu2011critical aerospace tooling. This position is heavily focused on field engineering. You will be responsible for testing, commissioning, and turnover of complex mechanical systems, along with providing critical onu2011site support such as construction supervision, troubleshooting, and warranty services. You will also collaborate with the mechanical design team as needed. The ideal candidate is a selfu2011starter with strong technical skills, leadership ability, and a passion for handsu2011on fieldwork combined with collaborative design efforts. Key Responsibilities u2022 Lead testing, commissioning, and turnover of mechanical equipment and systems to clients. u2022 Provide handsu2011on field support including construction supervision, troubleshooting, and warranty services. u2022 Resolve design and construction issues in real time during field operations. u2022 Conduct inspections and testing of components at manufacturing facilities and support field installation. u2022 Collaborate with contractors, fabricators, and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery. u2022 Support the mechanical design team with concept development, calculations, and detailed mechanical designs. u2022 Design complex machinery such as gearing, actuators, wheels, weldments, bearings, and related assemblies. u2022 Provide project updates and ensure seamless integration of systems during design reviews with architects, contractors, consultants, and engineering teams. u2022 Manage multiu2011discipline construction projects in both the field and office environments. Required Skills and Experience u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree from an ABETu2011accredited program in Mechanical, Structural, or Aerospace Engineering. u2022 EIT certification with plans to pursue the PE exam. u2022 Five or more years of experience with a bacheloru2019s degree, or three or more years with a masteru2019s degree, in a related engineering field. u2022 Experience with testing, commissioning, and turnover of mechanical equipment. u2022 Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve technical issues on site. u2022 Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions. u2022 Strong problemu2011solving ability with a systemu2011level mindset. u2022 Excellent communication and timeu2011management skills. u2022 Ability to work at elevated heights and in outdoor environments including heat, cold, and adverse weather. u2022 Ability to lift and carry materials or equipment weighing fifteen to thirtyu2011five pounds. u2022 Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends when needed for site operations. u2022 U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status. u2022 Ability to work remotely initially with an expected transition to onu2011site work in Orlando in Q3 2025. u2022 Willingness to travel up to twenty percent, primarily to headquarters locations. Preferred Qualifications u2022 Florida PE license. u2022 Two or more years of experience in the Amusement or Entertainment industry. u2022 Proficiency with SolidWorks, SolidWorks Simulation, and Ansys. u2022 Strong understanding of GD&T. u2022 Experience with manufacturing processes and field supervision. u2022 Experience managing risks associated with custom or firstu2011ofu2011itsu2011kind designs. u2022 Ability to analyze complex problems and make timely, informed decisions. u2022 Enthusiasm for handsu2011on field work and solving mechanical challenges. u2022 Familiarity with applicable standards including ASTM F2291, AISC, and AWS.
