Summary The Tampa VA Healthcare System's is seeking experienced Physician Chief for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Service. As Chief of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Service, you'll oversee clinical operations and strategic initiatives for multiple outpatient, inpatient, and residential clinics, guiding a team committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to our nation's heroes. You'll collaborate across service lines, mentor providers, and lead with both clinical insight and administrative strength. A summary of the duties is mentioned below but not limited to: Set goals, objectives, and operational policies for the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Service. Serve as a link between executive leadership and clinical teams, representing the Chief of Staff. Ensure high standards of care, efficiency, and patient satisfaction. Oversee clinical quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives. Maintain a clinical caseload while managing administrative duties. Develop and enhance relationships with internal/external partners. Support research, education (residency programs), and technology adoption. Manage special projects and strategic planning for the medical center. Work with other service lines, administrators, and community partners. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply. Requirements Conditions of Employment U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA. Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959. Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
