Mill Operator

Now Hiring a Feed Mill Operator in Shippensburg, PA 2pm to 10pm, Monday-Friday $25.00/hr + to start Full-time/long-term Opportunities for overtime Job Description The Feed Mill Operator is an integral part of our team, responsible for grain testing and the manual addition of feed ingredients following operating procedures. This role involves inventory management, maintenance, repair, and operation of production equipment, as well as housekeeping activities. Operators must comply with all company, local, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations. Responsibilities + Conduct grain testing, including DON testing, dockage, moisture, bushel weight, and foreign material. + Perform manual addition of feed ingredients and accurately record medication and vitamin usage. + Develop a basic understanding of animal nutrition and the interaction of ingredients with milling and grinding processes. + Clean and perform routine housekeeping of the mill. + Understand general mechanical duties as needed. + Navigate and use systems such as Laserfiche, The Wenger System, and WEM. + Maintain orderly bag inventories. + Complete required training in a timely manner. + Perform other duties as determined by supervisors. Essential Skills + Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and with assistance, up to 100 lbs. + Capability to operate heavy machinery for items over 100 lbs. + Experience in working in confined and dusty spaces. + Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. + Ability to operate various types of machinery and heavy equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High school degree or equivalent required. + Solid foundation of general work experience. + Background in agriculture through education or experience preferred. + Knowledge of feed manufacturing equipment operation and maintenance preferred. + Valid forklift certificate or willingness to obtain within the first 12 months of employment. Work Environment Work in a poultry and swine feed manufacturing environment, which can be dusty and have the smell of animal feed. Shifts are available across 2nd, 3rd, and weekend schedules, with differential pay for evening and weekend hours. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shippensburg, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.75 - $26.75/hr.
