Position SummaryThe Occupational Therapy Assistant at MultiCare is an excellent opportunity to provide direct patient treatment under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. This role offers you the capacity to apply your service orientation and good judgment toward the comprehensive care of occupational therapy patients.ResponsibilitiesYou will perform occupational therapy treatment procedures, modalities, and occupational training for the purpose of improving functional abilityYou will confer with OT prior to beginning a treatment program regarding goals, plans of treatment, treatment procedures, modalities, and precautionsYou will contact the supervising OT when direct intervention is needed to change an occupational therapy treatment plan or when medical problems exist that necessitate attentionYou will provide recommendations for assistive devices and equipment as needed to improve function and independence at homeYou will observe, record, and report the patient's reaction to treatment and any changes in the patient's condition, preparing clinical progress notes in accordance with departmental policyYou will consult with other members of the rehabilitation team and other health care personnel to provide a collaborative therapeutic approach consistent with the needs of each patientRequirementsLicensed as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in the State of WashingtonMinimum one (1) year of experience in adult rehabilitative services preferredAbout Yakima Memorial HospitalMultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital has served the Yakima Valley since 1950.
