FTE: 0.900000 Standard Hours: 36.00 Shift: Shift 3Shift Details: 1900-0730 Holidays: Every other holiday Weekends: Everythird weekend Job Summary: The Critical Care Technician (CCT) assiststhe Registered Nurse with delegated tasks related to the acute care ofthe patient. Provides age appropriate care in a culturally and ethicallysensitive manner. Reports to the Nurse Manager of the assigned unit andthe RN's on duty on each assigned shift. Other duties as assigned.EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: High School diploma or equivalent is required.TRAINING DESCRIPTION: Completion of the Critical Care Tech course orequivalency within 6 months of hire date. Successful completion of askill competency checklist (validated by a Registered Nurse) isrequired. Successful completion of arrhythmia recognition course andsuccessful orientation to the monitor room to work as a monitortechnician is required within 6 months of hire for staff in the FWBH MCUand the FMFH 2nd floor MCU. Candidates with prior monitor technicianexperience may complete a written competency test to meet thisrequirement. SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION: Ability to read, write andcommunicate verbal and written communication. LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification is required,otherwise must be currently enrolled in a nursing program and able toprovide documentation from an accredited school for professional nursesindicating successful completion of the basic nursing course whichencompass all of the criteria noted by the State of Wisconsinadministrative code and a minimum experience of one acute care nursingmedical/surgical clinical rotation. American Heart Association (AHA)Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approvedequivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
