Description Controller u2013 Ecommerce/Manufacturing Onu2011Site in Golden, CO Location: Golden, CO (onu2011site, full-time) Industry: Ecommerce & Manufacturing Reports to: Executive Leadership Team: Small Accounting/Finance Team About the Role We are seeking a hands-on Controller who is both an exceptional accounting leader and a true business operator. This role goes far beyond month-end closeu2014you will own the integrity of the balance sheet, drive working capital performance, strengthen inventory economics, enforce pricing and margin discipline, and implement purchasing and operational controls across the business. You will also play a key leadership role in the companyu2019s future ERP migration. This is an on-site role in Golden with real authority and influence across the organization. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, collaborative, comfortable in a fast-paced physical products environment, and eager to use modern tools (including AI) to improve financial operations. Key Responsibilities Accounting Leadership & Close + Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with complete balance sheet integrity. + Oversee GL accuracy, reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and financial reporting. + Maintain compliance with GAAP and strengthen internal controls. Operational Finance & Business Partnership + Manage working capital with a focus on cash forecasting, DSO/DPO, inventory levels, and supply chain impact. + Analyze and optimize inventory economics, including costing, shrink, variances, and COGS accuracy. + Drive pricing and margin discipline, partnering with sales, operations, and leadership. + Implement and enforce purchasing controls and crossu2011functional financial processes. Systems & Process Improvement + Lead or support migration from QuickBooks to a full ERP (NetSuite, Odoo, Acumatica, etc.). + Recommend and build AIu2011driven automations and analytics tools to improve accounting workflows. + Develop dashboards and reporting through BI tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or Google Data Feed. Compliance & Tax + Oversee sales tax compliance across states and marketplaces. + Work with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners as needed. Leadership + Manage and develop a small accounting team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement. + Collaborate closely with supply chain, operations, ecommerce, and leadership teams. + Demonstrate the work ethic and business acumen of a leader who thinks beyond accounting. Requirements + Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting; Masteru2019s in Accounting highly preferred. + Active CPA license preferred. + 6u201310+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility. + Primary experience in physical products, ecommerce, CPG, or manufacturing environments. + Strong understanding of sales tax, inventory accounting, and cost accounting. + Project management experience. + Demonstrated curiosity and use of AI tools for business or accounting tasks. + Highly skilled in Excel, including advanced functions and modeling. + Proficient with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or Google Data Feed). + Experience leading or participating in a QuickBooks-to-ERP migration. + Strong communicator with exceptional thoroughness in written and verbal communication. + Proven high integrity, trustworthy, and able to maintain confidentiality. + Top-level professional reference from at least one direct supervisor. + Must be willing to work on-site in Golden and live within ~30 miles.
