Electrical Controls Engineer

Description We are in search of an electrical/controls design engineer to supplement our Client's existing engineers in support of current projects and design of future projects. As a controls engineer, you should have excellent mathematical skills, familiarity with electrical systems, CAD software, and PLC programming experience. Moreover, you should have a keen attention to detail and strong troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills. This job will allow you to expand your knowledge of electrical panel design and controls programming by working with many different PLC, HMI, and VFD manufacturers. Responsibilities: Electrical u2022 Develop electrical schematics in CAD for control panels u2022 Power up electrical systems and configure hardware per application specifications u2022 Help establish new standards and maintain existing ones u2022 Check work quality of assemblers and technicians and respond to inquiries as needed u2022 Research and program new VFDs as required per customer requirements u2022 Work with the sales group to provide input with quote preparation as required u2022 Assist with wiring up machines and skidded system in our shop Software u2022 Design and develop software applications (PLC and HMI) based on provided requirements and specifications u2022 Understand client requirements for communication interface/networking and create specifications based on these requirements u2022 Review, repair, and redesign legacy code u2022 Troubleshoot issues with existing installed systems u2022 Write user manuals to communicate functionality of company developed programs Skills Plc programming, Autocad, Allen-bradley, Automation, Controls design, Hmi, Programming, Electrical, Controls engineering, Design, Electrical engineering, Plc design, Troubleshooting, Control system design Top Skills Details Plc programming,Autocad,Allen-bradley,Automation,Controls design,Hmi,Programming,Electrical,Controls engineering Additional Skills & Qualifications Nice to Have: - Electrical design experience - Experience with Siemens programming Experience Level Entry Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Independence, KY.
