Summary This position is located in the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Office of General Counsel. Responsibilities HUD's Mission The mission of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is to foster strong communities by supporting access to quality, affordable housing, expanding the housing supply, and unlocking homeownership opportunities for the American people. This position is located in the Office of General Counsel (OGC), Departmental Enforcement Center (DEC), Satellite Office. OGC is the chief legal office of the Department, the principal legal adviser to the Secretary and staff of HUD, and the head of the Departmental Enforcement Center. OGC provides legal opinions, advice, and services with respect to all Departmental programs and activities, and assists in the development of HUD programs and policies. OGC also provides functional legal counsel on defensive and affirmative litigation and the development of legislation and regulations. As a Supervisory Operations Oversight Analyst (Satellite Office Director), you will: Provide program oversight within the Satellite Office. Make managerial, technical, and analytical oversight decisions required for successful program implementation and management. Exercise subject matter expertise, oversight control and leadership. Provide a level of expertise involving specific objectives for all operations support assigned programs or projects, in compliance with approved Enforcement Center requirements. Participate in remote/on-site reviews and surveys of HUD participant operations to evaluate owner/management performance/compliance; develop strategies for responding to performance trends; and monitor program implementation and compliance using federal acquisition guidelines, policies, and procedures. Requirements Conditions of Employment The official duty station for this position will be in Chicago, Illinois. Failure to report to duty at this location may be grounds for a disciplinary action, including removal. Key Requirements: Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. National. A probationary or trial period may be required. Continued employment is contingent upon supervisory certification that continued employment will benefit the Federal Service; the certification will occur no less than 30 days before the end of the probationary/trial period. A one year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required. Must successfully complete a background investigation. Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required. Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency. Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
