Job Family : Management Consulting Travel Required : Up to 75% Clearance Required : None What You Will Do: Guidehouse is seeking a Director to join its State and Local Government Practice in or near Columbus, Ohio. This is a leadership role for a proven consulting executive who combines strong technology acumen with a demonstrated track record of originating revenue, expanding accounts, and delivering complex engagements with excellence. Guidehouse is making a strategic investment in Ohio. This Director will enhance Guidehouseu2019s Columbus presence, including recruiting, executive visibility and sustained client engagement. This role requires a balance of client-facing leadership, hands-on delivery oversight, and business development. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating as a trusted advisor to senior executives while also mentoring teams and shaping market offerings. u2022 Build, manage, and grow a sustainable and expanding Ohio-based book of consulting business aligned with Guidehouseu2019s strategic priorities. u2022 Develop and maintain executive-level client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor to senior leaders. u2022 Lead business development efforts including opportunity identification, proposal development, pricing, negotiation, and deal closure. u2022 Act as engagement executive for complex, technology-enabled consulting projects, ensuring high-quality delivery and client satisfaction. u2022 Manage quality control for project deliverables and work product consistent with Guidehouse quality requirements. u2022 Provide strategic direction and oversight for initiatives such as technology modernization, systems implementation, digital transformation, data and analytics, and enterprise platforms. u2022 Translate technology concepts into clear business value for non-technical stakeholders. u2022 Contribute to go-to-market strategies, account planning, and the development of new service offerings. u2022 Recruit, mentor, and develop consulting talent while fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture. u2022 Support overall practice operations including financial performance, utilization, and resource planning. u2022 Work closely with our teaming partners and execute joint go-to-market plans. What You Will Need: u2022 Experience serving public sector clients, particularly state or local government organizations. u2022 Demonstrated success in a team-based environment originating and closing consulting engagements with accountability for revenue growth and pipeline development. u2022 Strong technology proficiency, with experience in areas such as IT modernization, cloud, systems implementation, data and analytics, or digital transformation. u2022 Hands-on experience with enterprise platforms and implementations such as ERP (financials, procurement, budgeting), HCM, grants management systems, or other enterprise systems, including integrations and data conversion. u2022 Established executive network within Ohio State Government. u2022 Demonstrated experience engaging senior agency leadership within Ohio state government in complex or high-visibility initiatives u2022 Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. u2022 Ability to operate effectively in a leadership role that balances sales, delivery, and people management. u2022 Critical thinking to solve problems and develop innovative solutions to clientsu2019 management and operational challenges. u2022 Proven abilities as a team leader: supervising teams to create an atmosphere of trust; seeking diverse views to encourage improvement and innovation; participating in various staff recruitment and retention activities; and coaching staff including providing timely meaningful written and verbal feedback. A Director in Guidehouseu2019s State and Local Government practice must possess the following: u2022 10+ years minimum relevant work experience. u2022 Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university. u2022 Excellent oral and written communication skills. u2022 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. u2022 Ability to travel to client locations, Guidehouse Office locations and as needed to support business development activities within the State of Ohio. u2022 Familiarity with State and Local Government structures, processes, procurement processes, contract vehicles, and network. u2022 Technology and Management Consulting skills such as project management, financial modeling, operational modeling, process improvement, and stakeholder management. u2022 Direct leadership of enterprise platform implementations such as ERP (financials, procurement, budgeting), HCM, or comparable systems. What Would Be Nice to Have: u2022 Master's Degree, MPP or MPA (including MBA or equivalent). u2022 Track record of building or scaling consulting offerings or practices. u2022 Experience representing a firm through thought leadership, industry events, or executive briefings. u2022 Experience facilitating meetings and public speaking with large groups. u2022 Health and Human Services (HHS) experience (for example: eligibility and enrollment, child welfare, Medicaid, public assistance, or related HHS enterprise platforms). u2022 Experience working with a Governoru2019s Office and/or supporting gubernatorial transition work (for example: transition planning, executive briefings, early-term priority execution, or operating model and Day One readiness support). The annual salary range for this position is $179,000.00-$298,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
