Application Engineer I

Job Summary The Application Engineer I will be responsible to coordinate the planning and design of control systems to include programming and system configuration. Essential Duties & Responsibilities u2022 Works with equipment vendors to coordinate communication protocols, encryption, and database requirements for integration to their systems. u2022 Read and identify mechanical equipment on floor plans u2022 The ability to identify mechanical equipment on drawings the following: Chillers, Boilers, Pumps, AHUu2019s, FCUu2019s, VAVu2019s, and EFu2019s. u2022 Understand basic electrical control circuits, u2022 Be proficient and utilize Visio and or AutoCAD. u2022 Understand controls networking principles. u2022 Display knowledge of controls hardware u2022 Create P&IDu2019s based on contract drawings P&IDu2019s u2022 Develop controls submittals with assistance from senior level application engineers. u2022 Understand simple installation methods, final inspection and testing, customer acceptance and training. u2022 Ability to implementation systems graphics per project scope, create control algorithms, source codes and implement graphics. u2022 Create guidelines, standards and templates for typical projects. u2022 Basic knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC) requirements for control system installations. Qualifications u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in engineering (preferably Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent field experience. u2022 2+ years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years in applications engineering preferred, specifically with Niagara AX/N4 u2013 Niagara N4 Certified. u2022 Knowledge of Direct Digital Controls, BACnet, MODbus, Tridium, Distech, and Delta a plus. u2022 Must have working knowledge of HVAC systems - Unitary Systems to Central Plants u2022 Engineering skills required include knowledge of electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and computer programming. u2022 Working knowledge of at least one HVAC controls systems (preferably Delta, JCI or Andover) u2022 Excellent verbal and written communication skills. u2022 Experience with control system architecture design, programing, or maintenance desired. u2022 EIT or desire to obtain a PE license a plus. #Mesa #LI-Mesa #LI-HVACjobs #LI-Onsite Equal Opportunity Employer As a leading provider of mechanical and electrical construction, facilities services, and energy infrastructure, we offer employees a competitive salary and benefits package and we are always looking for individuals with the talent and skills required to contribute to our continued growth and success.
