Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking for well qualified Principal Systems Engineers to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Engineering organization. This position is located in San Diego, CA. The Principal System Engineer performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. They ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. They perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Essential Functions: u2022 Familiarity and understanding of system requirements (validation and verification) and interface control documents (ICDs), and statements of work (SOW) u2022 Support cross-IPT development of system level requirements and use cases u2022 Support requirements verification methodology and traceability u2022 Perform requirements verification and selloff u2022 Work with IPTs to develop and execute program IFC plans and metrics u2022 Manage project execution rhythm, coordination, and reporting activities u2022 Familiarity with JIRA software tool (and/or similar) for issue tracking and resolution Basic Qualifications: u2022 Principal Systems Engineer (level 3) consideration u2013 Bacheloru2019s degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of engineering experience; MS degree in STEM discipline with 3 years of experience in engineering. PhD degree in a STEM discipline with 0 years of engineering experience u2022 Experience in at least one aspect of aerospace Systems Engineering, including requirements decomposition, test planning, requirements verification, integration, and requirements management u2022 Experience with Project Management u2022 Must have at least an Interim Secret clearance to start for consideration u2022 Ability to obtain and maintain a final DoD Secret Security Clearance u2022Must have ability to obtain and maintain Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs. Every ERG is inclusive of all employees Primary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
