A 40 hour per week schedule will benecessary to accomplish theassigned duties.MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTSEducation/Experience Requirements:1. Minimum age of 212. Must have a minimum of one year experience managing a departmentsbudget, staffing,performance, and supervision of staff3. Relevant experience in aquatics4. Bachelors degree preferredPhysical/Mental Requirements:1. Must be able to frequently perform the following physicalactivities; swim, bend, stoop, kneel,twist, reach with hands, sit, stand for extended periods of time, walk,lift and carry up to 50pounds, and communicate verbally2. Must be able to perform work both indoors and out and be exposed toprevalent weatherconditions3. Must maintain lifeguard certification level of physical and mentalreadiness4. Must be able to visually see all sections of an assigned zone orarea of responsibility5. Must be able to adequately hear noises and distinguish distresssignals6. Must possess ability to remain alert and maintain concentration forlong periods of time toensure safety of participants7. Must possess ability to make independent and sound decisions in arapidly changingenvironment8. Must be able to show initiative in the absence of supervision9. Must be able to relate to and work with diverse groups of people ina friendly and consistentmanner10. Must be able to handle questions/concerns and resolve conflicts ina courteous and professionalmanner11. Must maintain a neat and professional appearanceJob Requirements:1. Complete BLS/AED, First Aid, O2, Lifeguard Certification, ListenFirst Workshop, and YSL Trainerin accordance with Conditions of Employment4. Understand and abide-by all policies and procedures as set forth bythe association5. Work a schedule that reflects the needs of the branchJOB RESPONSIBILITIESStaff Development:1. Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule and manage a high performingstaff focused on providingexceptional service and work well as a team.2. Develop strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.5. Maintain staff retention through positive reinforcement and support.6. Ensure adequate lifeguard coverage of all pools during operatinghours.7. Conduct lifeguard, swim lesson instructor and safety certificationtrainings.8. Responsible for safety drills/audits, monthly documented staffmeetings/development andtrainings.9. Ensures staff certification records are current and fulfill allin-service standards.Program Operations:1. Effectively communicate the mission, vision and values of theWichita YMCA.2. Ensure all programs comply with YMCA standards and methods ofoperation.3. Integrate member-service and engagement strategies into all programsto ensure positiv emember recruitment and retention.4. Build and expand the program enrollment and participation.5. Coordinate the Splash outreach program.6. Keep accurate records of attendance, retention, member andnon-member participation.7. Ensure progress reports are distributed consistently to programparticipants.8. Monitor and evaluate delivery and effectiveness of programs andstaff for the highest possiblelevel of quality.
