Utility Worker

Description OVERVIEW: The Utility Worker cleans and maintains the food service equipment and preparation areas. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: + Clean and maintain food service equipment and preparation areas + Perform general janitorial tasks + Maintain warehouse & dining area cleanliness + Supervise program participants and their assigned chores + Respond to emergencies + Ensure the kitchen is securely locked at the end of each shift + Notify the maintenance department of any issues involving rodents and pests + Assist with food preparation and serving + Maintain cleanliness of walk-in refrigerator & freezers + Other related duties as required EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: + High School Diploma or equivalent (required) + Food Handlersu2019 certification (required - company provided) + First Aid and CPR certification (within first fourteen days of employment u2013 company provided). + Tuberculosis clearance (within first seven days of employment u2013 company provided) + Experience and ability to work successfully with issues of substance abuse, mental illness, and other potential barriers to self-sufficiency SKILLS AND ABILITIES: + Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task with follow-through + Ability to work with a highly diverse population + Great communication skills EQUIPMENT USED: + Modern Office Equipment and Relevant Software + Relevant kitchen equipment + Relevant cleaning equipment PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
