Summary The Central Arkansas VA Healthcare System is seeking a Physician, Pain Management Anesthesiologist to join a large and busy practice working in Pain Management & Rehabilitation Services. The ideal candidate will possess excellent evaluation and management skills as well as training in advanced interventional procedures. Responsibilities This is an Open Continuous Announcement and may be extended beyond the current closing date until the position is filled. Eligible applications will be referred at regular intervals, as additional vacancies occur and/or on an as-needed basis during the duration of the announcement. To be considered a strong partner with our other nine providers, the ideal candidate will possess excellent evaluation and management skills as well as training in advanced interventional procedures. Effectively evaluates patients with chronic pain by developing and implements goal-oriented treatment plans for complex patients in need of pain management. Provides peripheral joint injections and other intramuscular injections, performs advanced spine procedures including cervical, thoracic and lumbar epidurals, facet procedures/RFA, SCS. Utilizes all risk mitigation strategies when prescribing scheduled pain medications and adjuvant medications. Effectively provides diagnostic evaluation, examination, and interdisciplinary treatment planning to meet the pain care needs of Veterans. Confidently and professionally collaborates with multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary teams of therapists, psychologists, social workers, pharmacists, APRNs, other physicians, nurses, etc. to meet a patient's complex rehabilitative needs. Fulfils the educational mission of VA by providing bedside and didactic teaching for students, residents, and fellows. Collects data, analyzes data, implements changes based on analyses results in their specialty area. Participates in facility, regional, and national activities as a subject matter expert as needed to support the overall VA mission to provide outstand comprehensive healthcare. Travel between the Little Rock and North Little Rock campuses will be required on an as needed basis. Travel to Outpatient Clinics associated with Central Arkansas VAHCS may be required on an intermittent basis. Other duties as assigned. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm Requirements Conditions of Employment U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
