Job Description

Purpose of Position The T&L Specialist will collaboratively work with Purchasing, Planning, Operations, and other internal stakeholders as well as carriers, freight forwarders, and other external partners to ensure consistency of supply flow. Will be part of an innovation-focused supply chain team developing and maintaining good client relationships thus delivering the very best in customer service. Will be part of a collaborative supply chain team which builds effective processes thus enhancing internal business systems. The T&L Specialist will work across GVR and Invenco businesses as well as supporting other OpCos as needed. This position is also part of the GVR North America Supply Chain / Purchasing Team. This is a hybrid position. Typically 1-2 days per week at the Greensboro, NC facility Core Functions + Coordinate inbound international and domestic shipments with our carrier and forwarder base for GVR and Invenco, multiple facilities. + Responsible for last mile logistics to prevent stock-outs including air freight coordination to destination, container coordination, expedited documents through U.S. Customs. + To review and approve freight invoices based on agreed contracted rates across freight, warehousing, customs and handling charges. (Invenco & Other VNT Opcos as assigned) + To be responsible for presenting complete & correct shipping documents to customers & brokers to ensure on-time processing & clearance of orders. + To ensure weekly shipping schedules are provided to customers and the business on status of Invenco open orders. + To analyze the logistics costs to better utilize the resources at the various branches to ensure we are deploying logistics in the local market. + Support duty drawback program. Key Responsibilities + To organize the logistics of all Finished Goods & Accessories in a timely manner and as per the customeru2019s order requirements. + To ensure shipping documents issued to freight forwarders are complete and accurate. + To work with 3PL and freight providers to assist with import customs clearance, commercial paperwork, and ensure maximum DIFOT achieved. + To keep a track of all changes to freight rates, policies and shipping processes especially exporting to the USA and update internal processes to accommodate these changes. + Responsible for last mile logistics to prevent stock-outs including air freight coordination to destination, container coordination, expedited documents through U.S. Customs, Customs inquiries. + Coordinate GVR freight, hot shots, domestic freight into both Greensboro locations 7300/311. + Spot quoting domestic and international requests. + Coordinate Invenco/3PL/311-Invenco shipments. + Assist freight forwarders with shipment movement including clearance of Inbound Ocean and Air Shipments. + Tactical communication with external customers u2013 carriers, vendors, suppliers. + Drive to reduce/eliminate Freight Damage and streamline Customer Delivery Experience. + Track savings projects as needed. + Willingness to continue professional development, specific to VBS tools. + Must be willing and able to travel domestically Relationships Position requires ability to organize and conduct meetings with internal customers, external suppliers and associates and publish reports. Requires interaction with other internal groups concerning technical matters, conveying ideas, and recommending possible solutions to problems. Internal customers at GVR and VRu2013 shipping, receiving, customer service purchasing, finance, VNT Corporate Logistics team, freight carriers, parcel carriers, freight payment services (USB), freight forwarders. Measures of Performance + Outbound Freight as a % of Sales. + Inbound Freight as a % of Receipts. + Logistics Savings Project $. + T&L Savings through PPB (Price, Process/Policy, Behavior). + Spend with Preferred/Qualified. + Spend on P-Card/DPO improvement. WHO YOU ARE (Qualifications) Background and Skill + Bacheloru2019s degree preferred in business, logistics, supply chain or industrial engineering. Associate degree accepted with experience. + 7+ years overall business experience with at least 5 years of that in Sourcing, Logistics, Indirect, Supply Chain, or Procurement role. + Continuous improvement mindset u2013 ability to suggest and streamline processes & improvements. + Knowledge of shipping out of Asia and into the USA would be a bonus. + Has worked with electronics and dangerous goods freight. + Sound supply chain & customer service experience managing daily shipping delivery schedules to customers. + Proven ability to manage both tactical and strategic workload, with exceptional time management. + Experience with ERP systems and previous experience with inventory management systems.
