JOB REQUIREMENTS: RS Upholstery Tech IVin GAC Appleton Unique Skills:Carpet Experience Required This is a weekend shift position Educationand Experience Requirements High School Diploma or GED required. 4 yearsexperience in upholstery to include two (2) years aircraft upholsteryexperience or 6 years commercial upholstery experience. Advancedknowledge of upholstery and sewing processes and products and/or advancecarpet knowledge including being able to install custom carpets.Position Purpose: Work independently to design, fabricate, and installupholstery and trim items in aircraft interiors. Assist Shop Lead byoverseeing projects and providing guidance and direction to co-workers.Mentor and train other Upholstery Technicians. Job Description PrincipleDuties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions: Fabricate and installseat covers, curtains and various assemblies and terpret material specifications and design/engineering drawings toensure finished product meets design and engineering requirements. Sew,fabricate, and install covers for all styles of panels in the aircraftinterior while meeting safety, quality, and productivity standards andgoals. Use the material tracking system, Corridor, to create partsdemand, track squawks and to sign-off work. Work with design/drawings tocut and install advanced custom design carpets with unique patterns.Additional Functions: Accept Lead responsibilities when needed. Overseesprojects and coordinates with Lead to delegate tasks to assignedtechnicians. . Conduct safety audits and assists team members in doingsafety audits. . Assist in maintaining shop equipment and associatedJSAs. . Comply with and champion Safety, 5S, and housekeeping policiesand ensure the protection of aircraft interiors (PTP). . Mentor andtrain lesser skilled technicians and monitor their work to ensure theycomplete assigned tasks in accordance with required. levels of safety,quality and productivity. . Work with Lead and higher skilledtechnicians to develop and implement process improvements reducematerial cost, cycle time, and labor hours using Lean Six-Sigma tools. .Perform other duties as assigned. Other Requirements: Possess a workingknowledge of Gulfstream inspection and process specifications andterminology. The ability to read, write, speak, and understandproficiently the English language. Ability to read and interpretblueprints and engineering documentation. Must be computer literate.Able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas, liftup to 40 pounds and work any shift.
