Magnolia River is currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our team Reporting to the HR Director, the HR Generalist provides comprehensive professional support to more senior HR staff and internal client groups in one or more functional areas of HR. _This role requires candidates to sit locally to the Huntsville, AL area and will require being on-site_ _Compensation for this role is based on experience. _ Duties and Responsibilities of the HR Generalist: + Perform professional level human resources work in one or more functional areas such as the companyu2019s leave program, staffing, employee relations, high level administrative projects, and personnel research. + Manage and process all leave requests, including Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodations, and other company-specific leave policies. + Maintain accurate records of leave requests and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. + Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures and their dissemination. + Prepare reports in conformance with legislative/regulatory and organizational needs. + Prepare written plans, reports, and/or procedures to address specific needs. + Recommend sound solutions to problems or issues as they arise. + Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance. + May attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. + Participate in HR projects and initiatives as needed. + Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: + Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and other relevant employment laws. + Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations. + Thorough knowledge of HR processes. + Knowledge of computer applications and functions including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. + Working knowledge of HRIS programs. + Strong verbal and written communication skills. + Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills. + Excellent customer service skills. + Ability to perform in a detail-oriented environment with a high level of accuracy. + Ability to organize, prioritize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously. + Ability to compile, review, and reconcile data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance. + Ability to communicate unpleasant news and difficult information in an appropriate manner. + Ability to maintain confidentiality. + Ability to investigate issues thoroughly and objectively. + Ability to work in a team environment. + Ability to travel as needed. Education and Experience: + Bacheloru2019s degree in human resources or related areas plus a minimum of three (3) years of directly related experience OR an equivalent in education and experience. + Experienced in coordinating employee programs (i.e., leave, benefits, communication, orientation, employee development, EEOC, diversity, FMLA, Workers Compensation, and/or OSHA initiatives) and reporting. + PHR or SHRM-CP certification is preferred Physical Demands + Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time. + The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. + Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery + The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers and clients. Must be able to exchange accurate information. + Duties are performed in an office environment.
