You belonghere.Academic Affairs & Workforce Development - College of PublicSafety Reports To: Associate Dean, College of Public Safety LOCATION:Green Bay STANDARD HOURS: 20-24 hours per week. Flexibility required toinclude other evening and/or weekend hours, as necessary. STARTING PAYRANGE: $22.26 - $25.39 per hour Salaries/Wages for all finalists(internal and external) will be placed within the range based uponeducation, experiences, current wages, and internal equity. POSITIONSUMMARY Assist with the day-to-day operations of the fire safetyprogram, fire safety complex, mobile training units, and remotefacilities in accordance with established policies and procedures.Support the maintenance, organization, and appearance of the FireTraining Grounds, fire apparatus, and fire equipment, including routinepreventative maintenance of tools, equipment, and facilities used ininstruction. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Assist with the application andadherence to policies and procedures while on the Fire Training Groundsor when using Public Safety facilities or equipment. Assist withmanaging the logistics of equipment being requested for training andeducation within the NWTC District. Ensure the safe operations ofequipment and facilities as required by state, industry, and OSHAstandards. Assist with support of logistics related to equipmentrequests for training and education within the NWTC District, ensuringsafe operations in accordance with state, industry, and OSHA standards.Support maintenance and inspection of fire facility and apparatus,equipment and tools, testing fire pumps and aerial devices, groundladders, SCBA and ensure the compliance of NFPA and WI SPS 330 requiredby the state. Assist with routine maintenance and inspections of firefacilities, apparatus, equipment, and tools, including basic testing offire pumps, aerial devices, ladders, and SCBA. Help ensure compliancewith NFPA and WI SPS 330 requirements, including fit testing forstudents and instructors. Work with instructors to ensure lab equipmentsupports curriculum needs. Assist instructors in ensuring lab equipmentaligns with curriculum needs. Provide input and support in areas ofcapital and operational planning, such as gathering vendor informationor researching equipment. OTHER EXPERIENCE ANDQUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE AssociateDegree in Fire Science or related field, or an equivalent combination ofeducation and experience in Fire Service. Two years of relatedexperience as a professional or volunteer in fire service. MicrosoftOffice Suite and database information systems. Knowledge of WisconsinFire Service training and certification standards. Must hold a validdriver's license and be insurable under the districts standardinsurance policy terms. Thorough understand of current fire codes,statutes, guiding WTSB directives and IFSAC requirements. Anequivalent combination of education and work experience may beconsidered. Preferred Qualifications: Cl ss A CDL, Combination Vehicleendorsement preferred Certified in the State of Wisconsin as aFirefighter Level 1, Firefighter Level 2, Fire Emergency ServicesInstructor 1 (FESI-1) preferred Skills and Abilities: Student Success:Demonstrate behaviors and actions that support student recruitment,retention, and student success initiatives. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Mobility:Ability to move around the campus to attend meetings and events. Inaddition, must be able to work in, on, around, over and under fixedequipment and machinery. May be required to work from lifts, ladders,and scaffolding. Manual Dexterity: Proficiency in using hands andfingers to handle or operate office equipment, tools, controls, and/orheavy equipment and machinery. Capability to push, pull, and/or maneuverequipment as needed. PPE: To wear and work in personnel protectiveequipment as needed Heavy Lifting: Capability to lift and carry up to 50pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.Visual and Auditory: Ability to read documents and communicateeffectively with students and staff.
