As a Senior Data Architect on Generacu2019s Industrial Cloud team , you will play a critical role in designing and evolving cloud-scale data platforms that power our industrial IoT solutions. This role sits at the intersection of architecture, data engineering, and platform strategyu2014owning the design of highly available, highu2011volume data systems that ingest and serve telematics data from industrial energy assets in the field. Youu2019ll join a collaborative, highu2011impact team working on cloud-hosted services that monitor and optimize largeu2011scale generators, battery storage, and microgrid systemsu2014software that is used, valued, and makes a real difference. Responsibilities: + Define and own the architecture for cloud-based data solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and high availability + Lead data architecture discussions and collaborate closely with engineering, product, ML, and crossu2011functional stakeholders + Design, build, andmaintainproduction datastores supporting highu2011speed, highu2011volume industrial IoT and telematics data + Translate business and product requirements into conceptual, logical, and physical data models + Drive best practices for data reliability, performance tuning, partitioning, indexing, and data quality + Analyze how customers and systems use data,identifyinefficiencies, and propose architectural improvements + Coach and mentor engineers on data architecture best practices through design reviews, code reviews, and technical guidance + Clearly explain complex technical solutions to both technical and nonu2011technical audiences, including leadership Minimum Qualifications: + Bacheloru2019s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience + 8+ years of experience working across the data tier, from design through development and production support + 5+ years of experience in a data architect role with strong grounding in enterprise data architecture concepts + Proven experience leading data architecture in production cloud environments (Azure preferred) Preferred Qualifications: + Experience working with highu2011speed, highu2011volume telematics or timeu2011series data + Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code , preferably Terraform + Programming or scripting experience in Python, PowerShell, and/or Tu2011SQL + Experience supporting or enabling AI/ML projects + Knowledge of data governance, data privacy, and compliance (e.g., GDPR) + Enterpriseu2011levelexpertisewith Microsoft SQL Server or similar relational databases + Handsu2011on experience with at least one NoSQL database (e.g., keyu2011value, document, graph, or column store) + Strong experience with data warehouse, data lake, and lakehouse design patterns + Experience designing andmaintaining data pipelines + Deep knowledge of data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical) + Strong understanding of performance tuning, indexing, and partitioning strategies + Passion for modern data architecture, microservices, and cloud-native data platforms + A naturally curious, growthu2011oriented mindset with a desire to mentor and elevate others + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams Great Reasons to work for Generac + Competitive Benefits : Health, Dental, Vision,401kand many more + Make a positive impact. Pay Transparency: Generac is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role based in (Fort Collins, Colorado or Remote) is $135,000 - $175000 USD. This compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidateu2019s relevant work experience, skills, certifications and geographic location. This role is eligible for variable compensation including short-term and long-term incentives. This position includes a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans; life, long-term disability, flexible spending and health savings accounts, accrued paid time off, 8 paid Holidays, 2 floating holidays and 401(k) retirement benefits. Physical Demands : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.
