This position is responsible to perform cycle counts in the production and warehouse according to our program to maintain a high level of inventory accuracy.What Will You Do?Perform inventory counts, research discrepancies and provide process improvements to avoid future discrepanciesAssists in developing solutions for inventory discrepanciesSupport material identification and storage activities to facilitate the cycle count processReports cycle count results to the Inventory AnalystProvide proactive communication relating to material statusDrives forklift or material handling equipment as needed when counting materialEnsure thorough and effective communication with internal personnelAbility to understand and execute verbal instructions regarding duties to be performedEffectively navigate through our warehouse management system when/if necessaryEnsure thorough and effective communication with internal personnelAssist with other duties within the department and/or other workstations/departments when necessaryKeep the work area clean and organizedPerform work at or above pre-established performance objectivesUnderstand workplace hazards and take steps to proactively prevent and report hazards or injuries in the workplace. Cooperate in Safety Programs, initiatives, and investigations.Education: High school education or equivalent.Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:Ability to read, write and speak EnglishAbility to follow directions and follow a process mapAbility to safely operate forklift, hand truck, tape gun and other warehouse equipmentMust be able to work in a fast pace high energy environmentAbility to work independently and as a member of a teamBasic math skills and problem-solving skillsAbility to identify and communicate basic process improvementsFlexibility and willingness to adapt to frequently changing priorities/tasksBasic computer skillsMust be able to function in a deadline driven environmentProven ability to make sound decisions within established guidelinesAbility to demonstrate flexible and efficient time managementStrong attention to detail and good follow through skillsGood interpersonal skillsProven reliability - attendance and punctualityFlexibility to work extra hours when needed, including weekends. Prior experience in warehouse/distribution environmentPrior forklift certification or experience strongly preferredKnowledge of warehouse management systems and processesAbility to identify basic process improvementsPossess understanding of the KANBAN processPossess understanding of basic LEAN principlesWorking Conditions/Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for 8 hours/day while making coordinated movements of the hands to grasp/manipulate objects. This may include frequent overhead and outstretched reaching with arms, bending/twisting/stooping, kneeling/squatting and frequently lifting/carrying up to 40 lbs. throughout the day and occasionally up to 40 lbs. as needed. Also may occasionally include pushing/pulling/lifting up to 40 lbs. Occasionally, depending on the tasks assigned for the day, you may have to sit or stand more or less frequently.
