Job Title: Firewatch Job Description The Firewatch plays a crucial role in supporting hot-work operations aboard vessels, in dry docks, and throughout the shipyard by monitoring for fire hazards and ensuring a safe working environment. This position is essential for preventing fires during welding, cutting, grinding, and other spark-producing activities. Responsibilities + Monitor hot-work operations for fire hazards. + Ensure a safe working environment during welding, cutting, grinding, and other spark-producing activities. + Support fire prevention measures aboard vessels, in dry docks, and throughout the shipyard. Essential Skills + Experience in shipyard labor and marine repair. + Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues, including valve and motor repairs. + Knowledge of ship repair and marine engines. + Must have a secret security clearance. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience working in a marine environment. + Familiarity with firewatch protocols and safety measures. Why Work Here? Work Environment The position is based on the Bangor Submarine Base, working amidst a dynamic and challenging shipyard setting.
