Description Product Development u2022 Formulate and optimize waterborne acrylic traffic paint systems u2022 Evaluate and select resin systems (acrylic latex and specialty binders) u2022 Improve brightness and hiding power u2022 Optimize dry time and viscosity balance u2022 Conduct lab-scale formulations and pilot plant trials Performance Testing u2022 Conduct performance evaluations including: o Dry time and no-track performance o Film build and application properties o Durability and scrub resistance o Storage stability u2022 Analyze test data and refine formulations accordingly Production & Scale-Up u2022 Support plant trials and initial production runs u2022 Troubleshoot manufacturing scale-up challenges u2022 Recommend raw material substitutions as needed Innovation & Strategy u2022 Develop next-generation systems (high build, faster dry, improved retroreflectivity support) u2022 Work collaboratively with Potters materials team when needed u2022 Support technical documentation for DOT submittals and NTPEP programs Skills polymer chemistry, coating, formulation, waterborne acrylic systems, rheology control, pigment dispersion, Laboratory, Gmp, Chemistry, Quality control, R&d Top Skills Details polymer chemistry,coating,formulation,waterborne acrylic systems,rheology control,pigment dispersion Additional Skills & Qualifications u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science (Masteru2019s preferred) u2022 3u20137 years experience in coatings formulation u2022 Strong knowledge of waterborne acrylic systems u2022 Experience with rheology control and pigment dispersion Experience Level Intermediate Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Franklin, MA.
