Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer Client is unable to provide vis sponsorship now or in the future. Job Description This role focuses on process improvements in the Final Assembly area for Electronic Control Units (ECU). The position involves project management, leading process improvements tied to processes and defect reduction, and specifying new equipment. It requires both mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills to enhance efficiencies. The role involves working with automated assembly equipment, including robotics like Fanuc and Yamaha, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). Responsibilities may include using AutoCAD or Solidworks to modify existing equipment, tooling, or fixtures. The role also involves creating and updating documents for team members and maintenance crews and may utilize SQL databases for data review on processes. Additionally, the role supports launch activities, including project management and obtaining estimates and quotations for new equipment. Responsibilities + Improve processes in the Final Assembly area for ECUs. + Lead process improvements and defect reduction initiatives. + Specify and manage new equipment projects. + Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to increase efficiencies. + Work with automated assembly equipment, including robotics and PLCs. + Utilize AutoCAD or Solidworks for equipment modifications. + Create and update documentation for team and maintenance staff. + Use SQL databases for process data review. + Implement preventive maintenance schedules for Maintenance staff. + Support launch activities, including project management and equipment quotations. Essential Skills + Manufacturing engineering experience. + Proficiency in Solidworks or AutoCAD. + Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles. + Experience with electrical and electronics engineering. + Knowledge of C++ and Visual Basic. + Familiarity with surface-mount technology. + Mechanical engineering expertise. + Experience with plant layout and Cpk studies. + Ability to design fixtures. + Experience in launching products. + Kaizen methodology knowledge. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, or a related field. + Experience with manufacturing equipment installation. + Fanuc robot programming knowledge. + Understanding of PLC ladder logic, especially Keyence, AB, and Hitachi brands. + Experience with Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI). + Demonstrated ability to learn quickly. + Strong project management skills. Work Environment The position is based in an electronic manufacturing facility, mostly in a clean-room environment, requiring the use of smocks and ESD shoes. It is a large organization, requiring the ability to work cross-functionally with various groups such as Quality, Production, Machine Build, and Design Engineering. The role involves a mix of floor work and desk duties, depending on project requirements. The facility includes 14 SMT lines, and the team includes 9 engineers. The role reports directly to a supervisor. The organization offers 6 paid holidays and 10 accrued PTO days annually. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Harrodsburg, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $42.00/hr.
