Here, you will receive endless support and appreciation while building a rewarding career with one of the most respected healthcare organizations in the world.An EMG Technologist isa specialized healthcare professional who performs electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies (NCS) to assess muscle and nerve function, aiding in the diagnosis of conditions like neuropathy or this role, you will learnto perform EMG examinations on patients of all ages and keep equipment in clean operatingcondition. Here, you will be a part of a world class organization with resources,benefitsand opportunities to grow within the field and organization.A caregiver in this position worksMonday-Friday from 8:00AM - 5:00PM.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Operate the nerve conduction instrumentation.Ensure proper adjustments are made foraccuraterecording procedures.Select nerves to be studied by reviewingrequestsand patient history.PreparepatientsforEMGexamination.Record all pertinent test data at each stage of struct inthe use of instrumentation, technique of electrode application, nerve stimulationmeasurementsandpossible causesof error.Relate procedure to the referring diagnosis, check results of nerve conductions performed byothersandteachdata interpretation.Maintain clean linen for each patient andcleanEMG/QPN rooms,electrodesand equipment.Ensure order and cleanliness of general laboratory areas.Replenishsupplies.Ensure maintenance of equipment and instrumentation in EMG and QPN labs and EMG exam rooms.Keepaccuratelogof all patients in EMG and QPN lab.Assistcaregiverswith financial tickets,reportsand chart flow.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Associate's Degree from an accredited END program OR a minimum of two years of college with some human anatomy and physiologyRegistered Nerve Conduction Technologist-R NCSTcertificationfromtheAmerican Association of Electrodiagnostic Technologists (AAET)Two years of experience as a Non-Registered EMG Technician at CCF or a comparable laboratoryWorking knowledge of neuroanatomy,physiologyand sciencesufficienttoassistwith the interpretation of test results and train non-registered techniciansKnowledge of all EMG techniques to perform research,demonstrationsand evaluate proceduresPhysical Requirements: Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time; must lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.Ability to assist with positioning and transporting patients, i.e., pushing beds, carts and wheelchairs.Requires the ability to maneuver equipment and motor coordination to operate equipment.Requires normal or corrected hearing and vision to normal range.Requires some exposure to communicable disease or body fluids.Personal Protective Equipment: Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.Pay RangeSalaries [which may be] shown on independent job search websites reflect various market averages and do not represent information obtained directly from The Cleveland Clinic.
