Job Description Plastic Surgery u2013 Clinical Faculty Rush University Medical Center Chicago, IL Rush University Medical Center , a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, seeks a full-time Plastic Surgeon specializing in Complex Microsurgery. Department Specifics: u00b7 This is an outstanding opportunity for a clinically driven plastic surgeon with advanced microsurgical training to build a robust practice in complex reconstructive surgery. u00b7 The ideal candidate will have expertise in reconstructive microsurgery, complex limb salvage and peripheral nerve surgery procedures. u00b7 The surgeon will join a collaborative team of plastic surgeons and advanced practice providers supporting a broad range of subspecialties, including breast reconstruction, maxillofacial surgery, pediatric plastic surgery, hand surgery, and cosmetic surgery. u00b7 The position offers the opportunity to contribute to a strong academic environment with an established residency and fellowship programs. u00b7 Academic appointment will be at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level, commensurate with experience and academic accomplishments. Duties and Responsibilities: u00b7 Provide high-quality, patient-centered care in microsurgical and reconstructive procedures. u00b7 Develop and expand a clinical focus in microvascular reconstruction. u00b7 Contribute to the growth of reconstructive services through collaboration and innovation. u00b7 Provide comprehensive reconstructive care of the upper and lower extremities, including traumatic and post-traumatic reconstruction, oncologic limb reconstruction, limb salvage and complex wound coverage, microsurgical free tissue transfer (as applicable), and nerve, tendon, and soft tissue reconstruction u00b7 Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes. u00b7 Participate in education and mentorship of residents and fellows within ACGME-accredited training programs. u00b7 Contribute to the academic mission through case conferences, lectures, and surgical instruction. u00b7 Participate in scholarly activity and national presentations as appropriate. u00b7 Inpatient clinical care will take place at Rush University Medical Center and Rush Oak Park Hospital. Outpatient care will be delivered at Rush specialty clinics at Rush University Medical Center and Rush North & Harlem, with access to advanced practice provider support and multidisciplinary services. u00b7 Participate in shared call coverage within the Division of Plastic Surgery; rotation is split among the providers and averages one week every 2-3 months.
