Position Description & Qualifications Serco-North America is seeking a Senior Principal Systems Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) with extensive experience in SATCOM enterprise leadership, systems engineering, and DoD portfolio integration to support the evolving needs of the Department of Defense (DoD) Wideband MILSATCOM enterprise. This role will be responsible for assisting in strategic technical guidance and analytical expertise in the acquisition, modernization, and lifecycle management of a diverse portfolio of Wideband ground systems and facilities, ensuring global mission readiness and operational excellence. Daily work is performed as an integrated member of the Space and Ground Systems (SGS) portfolio team, across Wideband SATCOM ground systems including CNPS, WSTARS, WRMS, PCMS and others to enable sustained delivery of critical SATCOM capabilities to DoD stakeholders. In this role, you will: + Lead highu2011visibility and missionu2011critical aspects of SGS client programs, applying SATCOM and Wideband enterprise experience to guide decisionu2011making and program execution. + Provide strategic advice, technical assessments, and portfoliou2011level guidance to program leads and project teams, leveraging deep knowledge of the Wideband SATCOM architecture, enterprise integration, and modernization planning. + Develop innovative, datau2011driven recommendations to optimize portfolio management practices, enterprise sustainment, and systemu2011ofu2011systems integration while ensuring program objectives are aligned with DoD governance and longu2011term capability roadmaps. + Support enterpriseu2011wide improvement initiatives across the portfolio. + Supervise, plan, and lead analytical studies, technical reviews, and datau2011driven surveys to support investment decisions, acquisition planning, and capability prioritization. + Serve as a senior liaison across stakeholders within the Wideband and other SATCOM enterprises. To be successful in this role, you will have: + Active DoD Top Secret clearance. + A Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM). + A minimum of 15+ years of related experience, including demonstrated expertise in SATCOM operations, wideband mission systems, enterprise integration, and technical program leadership. + Proven experience in strategy formulation, execution oversight, and DoD resource planning, including alignment of requirements, budgets, and acquisition activities. + Expert understanding of DoD policies, procedures, and decisionu2011making frameworks, with the ability to develop pragmatic, innovative solutions. + Demonstrated ability to translate complex operational, technical, and organizational factors into actionable recommendations for enterpriseu2011level decisionu2011making. + Ability to travel 25%. Additional desired experience and skills: + Masteru2019s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university. + Extensive knowledge in the Wideband MILSATCOM Enterprise. + Experience with DoD acquisitions processes. + Experience with DoD SATCOM acquisition, prioritization, and spectrum management processes. + Experience with SATCOM Planning and Link Budget Analysis. + Experience with ITU guidelines. + Experience within OSD, Joint Staff, Service Staff, or senior headquarters environments, with a history of cross-agency SATCOM coordination, multinational engagement, and enterprise modernization. + Deep knowledge of DoD organizational roles, operational structures, and governance frameworks.
