This employment opportunity is being recruited by Rady Childrenu2019s Hospital-San Diego on behalf of Children's Specialists of San Diego. The Physician Assistant, ED-UC position is accountable for a defined patient population under the supervision of a licensed physician. The Physician Assistant, ED-UC is the primary provider of care to acute, critical, complex chronically ill and well pediatric patients collaboratively with the Divisions of Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care. The Physician Assistant, ED-UC functions as an advanced practice provider, clinical leader, educator, researcher, care coordinator, and consultant. Performs within the scope of licensures and in accordance with hospital/CSSD policies. Some positions will be responsible for being on call according to a predetermined schedule or as needed, pursuant to Division needs. Note: Physician Assistants assigned to work in Urgent Care are required to report to work at multiple Urgent Care locations on a regular basis. Physician Assistants assigned to Emergency Medicine will be required to work at additional locations on occasion. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Masteru2019s Degree Completion of a Physician Assistant Program Current California Physician Assistant license Current BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers, issued by AHA DEA license for positions that require the writing of scheduled medications (Must obtain within 1 year of employment) Medicare Billing number (NPI-National Provider Identifier) (Must obtain within 6 months of employment) Certification: Physician Assistant, National Commission (Must obtain within 1 year of employment) Successfully complete the credentialing process through Medical Staff Services Successfully complete the requirements of the PA Practice Agreement for the assigned division PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 2 Years of Experience in clinical practice with emphasis in specialty area Current PALS Certification, issued by AHA Experience in specialty area as a Physician Assistant Formal in-service education and/or lecturing skills Bilingual The expected hiring range for this position is $74.51 to $102.45 _Childrenu2019s Specialists of San Diego is committed to compensation that is externally competitive and internally equitable.
