JOB SUMMARYEstablish and promote the maintenance of a safe, accident-free, healthy work environment that is compliant with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures and employee communications regarding safety guidelines. Train employees in safe workplace practices.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES u00b7 Develops and implements general safety policies and procedures in accordance with company requirements to be followed by site personnel in compliance with local, state, regional, and national environmental, health and safety regulations. u00b7 Consults with all departments on design and use of equipment, fire prevention and safety programs, and any applicable environmental permits or compliance requirements. u00b7 Partners with operations, engineering, work cell leaders, and operators in the completion of risk assessments. u00b7 Supports the Layout of manufacturing workspace to optimize a safe working environment. u00b7 Participates in new product integration and other management of changes projects. u00b7 Formulates appropriate safety policies and guidelines. u00b7 Inspects or tours facilities to detect existing or potential accidents, incidents, and health hazards. u00b7 Recommends corrective or preventative measures where indicated. u00b7 Keeps managers and employees alerted as to the hazards of working with toxic fumes, chemicals, and any other hazardous substances. u00b7 Develops training programs and communications to increase proficiency in safe practices and promote safety consciousness. u00b7 Participates in accident/injury investigations. u00b7 Maintains safety files and records. u00b7 May report to management on health and safety issues and concerns. u00b7 Supports all company safety and quality programs and initiatives. u00b7 May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.JOB QUALIFICATIONSKNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS u00b7 Develops and implements general EHS policies and procedures to be followed by company personnel in compliance with local, state, regional, and national regulations. u00b7 Requires working knowledge of US-OSHA and EPA compliance requirements associated with manufacturing operations. u00b7 Strong leadership skills with the ability to build working relationships with individual employees, site leaders, regional EHS team, and site contractors. u00b7 The ability to prioritize tasks with a focus on completing tasks in a managed approach with attention to technical accuracy and within established timelines. u00b7 Knowledge of incident investigations and root cause analysis. u00b7 Familiar with new equipment introduction and validation processes; including, User defined criteria, FAT and SAT reviews, PSSR, and other steps to ensure the appropriate review and validation of equipment prior to site operation. u00b7 Maintains safety files and records. u00b7 May report to management on health and safety issues and concerns. u00b7 Support company EHS programs and initiatives. u00b7 Knowledge of ISO14001, ISO45001 is preferred. u00b7 Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as needed, based on the evolution of the company and the requirements of the department/position. EXPERIENCE u00b7 A minimum of (5) years of experience working in a manufacturing environment. u00b7 Preference given to candidates with education and/or training specific to EHS in a manufacturing environment. u00b7 Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate creativity in identifying solutions which balance supporting customer and operational goals along with ensuring EHS requirements are in compliance.
