As Associate Producer you will support the production of Criminally Obsessedu2019s daily true crime vodcast. This role is hands-on and detail-oriented, blending investigative research, asset management, production support, and social-forward execution. About Criminally Obsessed: Powered by a network of 1,400 reporters, _Criminally Obsessed_ is first on the scene at the true crime cases people are obsessing over. From social-first content to long-form documentaries, our team of producers and editors are passionate about telling the stories that matter and reach millions of viewers daily across all our social media and digital platforms in their quest to find the truth behind todayu2019s biggest crimes. You will work closely with the host, producer, executive producer, and editor to help bring episodes from concept to delivery, ensuring stories are well-researched, factual, visually compelling, and engaging for our audience. This is an ideal role for a highly organized self-starter with strong true crime instincts and growing production skills. Key Responsibilities: Research & Editorial Support u2022 Research daily true crime stories using court filings, police reports, FOIA requests, and Sinclair news sources u2022 File, track, and manage FOIA requests with law enforcement agencies, courts, and government entities u2022 Pull, and organize production assets including video clips, photos, documents, audio, and legal records u2022 Assist Producer and host with background research, timelines, and case briefs u2022 Monitor breaking news and case developments and flag timely updates Production & Studio Support u2022 Assist host during recordings, including show prep, notes, timing, and on-set support u2022 Support production setup and execution, including webcam configuration, lighting, shot framing, staging, and basic audio setup u2022 Ensure production quality meets standards for daily digital publishing u2022 Assist with editing workflows as needed, including rough cuts, visual asset prep and short-form social cuts Post-Production & Packaging u2022 Create compelling thumbnails aligned with _Criminally Obsessed_ brand standards and optimized for CTR u2022 Assist in identifying standout moments for social clips u2022 Create social cuts optimized for YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Instagram Reels, and other vertical platforms u2022 Partner with editor, EP and content manager to ensure clips reinforce brand Workflow & Operations u2022 Maintain organized logs for assets, FOIA requests, research notes, and production materials u2022 Coordinate closely with Producer and editorial team to meet daily deadlines u2022 Adapt quickly to shifting timelines, breaking news, or evolving editorial direction u2022 Apply ethical and legal best practices in true crime reporting, including attribution and sensitivity Standard for all positions u2022 This role requires occasional travel, approximately 10-20%, to attend conferences, training, or on-site content coverage. u2022 Physical Requirement: Must be able to safely lift, carry, and maneuver equipment/gear weighing up to 25 pounds, following proper safety protocols. Qualifications: u2022 3-5 years of experience in digital media, journalism, podcasting, or video production u2022 Strong research and fact-checking skills, including public records and court documents u2022 Familiarity with FOIA processes and investigative research u2022 Working knowledge of video production fundamentals (webcam, lighting, framing, staging) u2022 Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro and Photoshop required) u2022 Experience creating thumbnails and short-form social video u2022 Strong organizational skills and attention to detail u2022 Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven daily production environment u2022 Passion for true crime storytelling and ethical journalism u2022 Familiarity with _Criminally Obsessedu2019s_ tone, audience, and platforms a plus Sinclair is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and a drug free workplace.
