What Commercial Technologies Software Engineering contributes to Cardinal HealthCommercial Technologies manages the enterprise's portfolio of commercial technologies to maximize the business value of the technologies and enhance the customer experience. This function creates strategies for the portfolio and innovative solutions based on relationships with business leaders, develops back-end solutions and capabilities, and improves the front-end mercial Technologies Software Engineering develops design options, process improvements and back-end solutions for commercial technologies to maximize performance and suitability for business needs. This job family manages engineering projects and plans for commercial technologies and interfaces with product managers to develop objectives. This job family assesses product systems, identifies opportunities for process and system improvements, and develops solutions through application of engineering principles.Responsibilities:Support automation solutions for source, deploy, pipeline, configuration managementWork with development and product management teams to transition and operate cloud-based workloadsContinually review and recommend improvements to operational processes and proceduresLook for opportunities to automate anything and everythingEnsure Monitoring and Alerting Standards are tested in transition and followed in productionEnsure migrated workloads maintain compliance with Security and Governance standardsEnsures the health of the service meets defined service level expectationsParticipate in incident management and communications, including follow-up with problem resolution post-mortem, and process improvementPerform special projects or tasks as assigned by Team Leader or ManagementApply knowledge of cloud technologies and services in daily operationsUtilize Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) to support team workflowsFollow IT operations practices aligned with the ITIL frameworkProvide build and operations expertise with a focus on automation, performance, monitoring, logging, security, backups/HA/DR, and complianceMaintain and enforce operational processes and standards in productionCreate, update, and maintain documentationFulfill service requests efficiently and accuratelyQualifications2-4 years of experience, preferredBachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred1 Year of experience with GCP or AWS, certification desired3 Years of experience with Enterprise ITIL Processes3 Years of experience with monitoring enterprise systems3 Years of experience in data center domains (server, network, storage, security)3 Years of experience with server and directory service technologies (Windows, Linux, AD, DNS)Excellent organizational skills, and oral and written communication skillsSecurity compliance experience such as ITIL, PCI, ISO 27001, HIPAA or SOXAbility to work with minimal supervision, making decisions based upon priorities, schedules and an understanding of business initiativesAbility to apply critical thinking to all aspects of the positionDetail oriented with excellent documentation skills/methodologies, who is able to successfully manage multiple priorities.Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilitiesSystems administration experience with Windows and LinuxProficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, and PythonExperience with enterprise monitoring tools for infrastructure and applicationsKnowledge of ITIL frameworks, including Transition, Operations, and Continuous ImprovementExperience using enterprise ITSM and CMDB toolsUnderstanding of data networking (routing, firewalls, load balancers, DNS)Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databasesHands‑on experience with DevOps automation tools (GIT, CodeCommit, Jenkins, Jarvis, Chef, Puppet, Ansible)Experience with container platforms and orchestration (Docker, GCP services, AWS ECS)Understanding of storage architectures and technologiesKnowledge of security principles including access management and key managementExperience with cloud architectures and cloud automation (Infrastructure as Code, especially in GCP)Understanding of SDLC, CI/CD methodologies, and pipeline workflow conceptsFamiliarity with risk, security, and audit compliance practicesAnticipated salary range:$80,500 - $103,410Bonus eligible:NoBenefits:Cardinal Health offers a wide variety of benefits and programs to support health and well-being.Medical, dental and vision coveragePaid time off planHealth savings account (HSA)401k savings planAccess to wages before pay day with myFlexPayFlexible spending accounts (FSAs)Short- and long-term disability coverageWork-Life resourcesPaid parental leaveHealthy lifestyle programsApplication window anticipated to close:04/24/2026 if interested in opportunity, please submit application as soon as possible.The salary range listed is an estimate.
