RN CVICU Job Description RN CVICU Job Summary The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the ICU. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients; He/She communicates with the physician about changes in the patient s clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and abnormal results and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality. Key Responsibilities Delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. Directs and guides patient/family teaching. Directs activities of other nursing personnel. Maintains standards of care in the ICU. Responsible and accountable for the care given to assigned patients. Communicates with the physician about changes in the patient's clinical condition. Monitors hemodynamic status. Interprets results of diagnostic studies. Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality. Required Qualifications Current and valid state RN License BLS ACLS Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care. Open Heart Experience. Should be able to do general ICU but also recover OH Cases. Preferred Qualifications Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred COVID vaccination/boosters preferred Skills & Competencies Proficient in nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). Ability to provide direct patient care. Leadership skills to direct and guide others. Excellent communication skills. Ability to monitor hemodynamic status. Ability to interpret diagnostic studies. Ability to respond quickly and accurately in emergency situations. Knowledge of patient privacy and confidentiality regulations. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Shift Details Per Diem position. Day shift and night shift available. No Guaranteed hours Licensing Requirements Current and valid state RN License Nursys verification
