Job Title: Maintenance Technician Job Description We are seeking dedicated Level I and Level II Maintenance Technicians responsible for maintaining machinery and auxiliary equipment, including automated computerized machine controls. The role involves repairing and maintaining machines, equipment, buildings, and grounds, as well as handling facilities work at the plant. Responsibilities + Make major electrical, mechanical, and construction repairs and installations involving schematics and blueprint interpretation. + Troubleshoot drives, PLCs, and various automation components. + Determine root cause of failures and recommend preventive actions, communicating through work order system comments/history. + Consistently communicate with internal customers regarding the status of equipment in the shop. + Advise supervisor of needs for outside services and work with service representatives on equipment and controls repair and installation. + Construct sketches of mechanical or construction alterations/installations and electrical circuitry. + Perform routine preventive maintenance on machinery as dictated by work orders. + Handle facility and utilities repairs and maintenance as needed. + Prepare bills of material on jobs requiring major material use and initiate purchase requisitions. + Make day-to-day work-related decisions. + Utilize various material handling equipment such as hoists, carts, lifts, fork trucks, and hand trucks in moving light to heavy weight material. + Implement a variety of lock-out/tag-out devices as required per plant LOTO Plan. Essential Skills + High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. + Experience with Industrial Machinery required. + Level I role requires either a degree with no professional experience or two years of professional experience. + Level II requires 5+ years of professional experience. + Knowledge and experience with industrial electronics and electrical components. + Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to innovate. + Comprehension of schematics/blueprints. + Knowledge of hydraulic/pneumatic systems. + Self-motivated and driven to maintain building/machines to 100% uptime via strong preventative activities. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology or equivalent preferred. + PLC knowledge is preferred. + Mechanical aptitude, computer skills, and standard work adherence. + Use of various material handling equipment such as hoists, carts, lifts, and hand trucks. + Electrical, PLC troubleshooting, electrical troubleshooting, Allen-Bradley, PLC control, welding, and electrical maintenance. Work Environment The base shift for this position is a day shift, Monday-Friday from 6:00am to 2:30pm, with occasional Saturday work based on production needs. Flexibility is required to support a second shift running from 1pm to 9:30pm. One technician will start at 5am each day to ensure the building is ready for production. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of McGregor, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
