Description We are seeking a hands-on Payroll Manager consultant to support both day-to-day payroll in Workday Payroll but also support with an UKG implementation. This is a high-priority, urgent need with strong potential to convert to permanent if the candidate performs well. This is a 3 days onsite hybrid role Primary Purpose of the Role Strong end-to-end payroll processing experience Deep experience in both Workday Payroll and UKG Hands-on UKG implementation experience (not just u201cpart of the teamu201d) Manager-level experience Strong reporting skills (pulling reports, tying out data, testing payrolls) Ability to validate setup (earnings, deductions, taxes, configurations) Comfortable speaking directly with UKG implementation teams Detail-oriented and able to tie out old system vs. new system data Manage end-to-end bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll processing using Workday Payroll and ADP Payroll for employees across multiple states and countries. Ensure accurate tax withholding, garnishments, and deductions in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Oversee equity-based compensation processing (RSUs, ESPP, stock options) and ensure proper tax treatment and reporting. Coordinate 401(k) contributions, employer matching, and compliance testing in collaboration with benefits teams. Maintain compliance with SOX controls, FLSA regulations, and payroll-related audits. Work closely with Finance and Accounting to ensure payroll journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes are accurate. Prepare and analyze payroll-related accruals, reconciliations, and variance reports. Manage payroll-related general ledger (GL) postings and ensure accurate financial reporting. Support external and internal auditors with payroll-related documentation and reports. Requirements 7+ years of payroll experience, with at least 3 years in a management role. Extensive experience with Workday Payroll and ADP Payroll in a large public company setting. Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll, tax compliance, payroll accounting, and stock compensation. Expertise in equity compensation, including RSUs, ESPP, and stock options. Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis, and reporting). Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or other relevant certifications preferred. Familiarity with 401(k) plans, benefits deductions, and compliance requirements. Strong understanding of GAAP payroll accounting and general ledger processes. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments. Experience in SOX compliance and payroll audits is a plus.
