Cable Technician I Overview We are looking for a dependable and hardworking Cable Technician I to join our installation team. This entry-level role is ideal for someone who wants to start a career in lowu2011voltage cabling and structured wiring. Youu2019ll work under the guidance of experienced technicians and support dayu2011tou2011day installation activities on active job sites. Responsibilities + Assist higheru2011level technicians with cable installation and project setup. + Pull, route, and organize various types of lowu2011voltage cabling. + Handle materials, tools, and equipment throughout the workday. + Climb ladders and work overhead as needed. + Install components such as wireway, cable tray, bus duct, switches, receptacles, and related devices. + Help build and prepare telecom closets, including mounting backboards, racks, patch panels, and fiber hardware. + Perform basic terminations, including IDC connections (110/66 blocks and patch panels). + Support conduit runs and assist with wire pulling. + Safely operate common hand and power tools, including cutters, drills, and compression tools. Required Qualifications + Ability to lift 40 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the day. + Valid driveru2019s license. + Must own and be proficient with basic hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers, snips, tape measure, level, hammer, cable stripper, flashlight, gloves). + Strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Preferred Skills + Basic knowledge of cable installation or construction labor. + Experience with punchdowns or lowu2011voltage work is a plus but not required. Experience Level Entry-Level u2014 training provided. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Barker, NY.
