Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team in Ft. Myers, Florida. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and supporting accounting operations. Responsibilities: u2022 Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations. u2022 Manage sales tax filings and resolve related discrepancies. u2022 Record and reconcile journal entries to maintain precise financial records. u2022 Monitor and update the general ledger for accurate reporting. u2022 Conduct fund accounting activities specific to non-profit organizations. u2022 Assist in the preparation of financial statements and related reports. u2022 Support audits by providing necessary documentation and analysis. u2022 Collaborate with other departments to streamline accounting processes. u2022 Identify and implement improvements to enhance efficiency within accounting operations. Requirements u2022 Proficiency in preparing corporate tax returns and managing sales tax filings. u2022 Strong knowledge of journal entries and general ledger maintenance. u2022 Experience in fund accounting, particularly for non-profit organizations. u2022 Ability to work with financial systems and accounting software. u2022 Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. u2022 Strong analytical abilities to interpret and manage financial data. u2022 Effective communication skills for collaborating across teams. u2022 Prior experience in an accounting role within a service industry is preferred.
