Sr. Accountant

Description A growing non-profit organization is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team. This individual will be responsible for: u2022Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards u2022Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and fund/account analysis u2022Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting u2022Monitor and analyze financial activity by program, grant, and funding source u2022Ensure compliance with GAAP, donor restrictions, grant requirements, and internal accounting policies u2022Assist with budgeting and forecasting, including program-level and grant-based budgets u2022Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and explanations u2022Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including grant billings and donor receivables, as needed u2022Support the preparation of tax filings and regulatory reports, including Form 990 and other required compliance documentation u2022Develop and implement process improvements to strengthen internal controls, accuracy, and efficiency u2022Mentor and support entry level accounting staff, providing training and guidance u2022Collaborate with program managers and cross-functional teams to support financial planning and decision-making u2022Other duties as assigned.
