Description We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Finance Director to join our team in St. Paul, MN. This role is essential in supporting our mission to create equitable learning environments for underserved students and educators by ensuring efficient financial operations and compliance. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in nonprofit accounting, financial analysis, and process improvement to help drive organizational success. Responsibilities: u2022 Oversee daily accounting activities, including general ledger management, reconciliations, and cash flow monitoring. u2022 Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements while maintaining strong internal controls and fraud-prevention measures. u2022 Collaborate with department heads to develop program-level budgets and support the annual budgeting process. u2022 Lead audit preparations and maintain relationships with auditors to ensure regulatory compliance. u2022 Manage payroll processes in partnership with HR, ensuring accuracy and compliance with benefits administration. u2022 Monitor capital project budgets and asset management for audit purposes. u2022 Partner with development staff to track restricted and unrestricted funding, ensuring accurate donor reporting. u2022 Record and reconcile donations, including cash, checks, and gift cards, while maintaining proper documentation for audits. u2022 Support improvements in financial systems and integrations to enhance efficiency and accuracy. u2022 Ensure adherence to nonprofit regulations and grant requirements through meticulous tracking and reporting. Requirements u2022 Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. u2022 At least 10 years of accounting experience, with 5 or more years in a managerial role. u2022 Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles, including fund accounting and grant tracking. u2022 Proficiency in financial software such as NetSuite and advanced Excel skills. u2022 Experience with audits, financial statements, and government grants. u2022 Exceptional analytical and organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail. u2022 Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while managing staff effectively. u2022 Familiarity with nonprofit regulations and compliance requirements.
