About the role : As a Tax Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in managing and preparing complex trust (1041) and 1099 tax records and filings , while providing valuable insights into tax compliance and strategies. This position builds upon foundational knowledge, enabling you to assist in special projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the organization's tax obligations are met efficiently and accurately. Responsibilities : u2022 Prepare and file intermediate-level 1041 and 1099 tax returns and documentation. u2022 Maintain comprehensive and updated tax records. u2022 Assist in the preparation of tax estimates and forecasts. u2022 Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary data for tax filings. u2022 Review and ensure accuracy in tax calculations and submissions. u2022 Conduct research on current tax laws and regulations. u2022 Respond to more tax inquiries from internal and external stakeholders. u2022 Identify and address discrepancies in tax documentation. Skills : u2022 Preferred Tax Knowledge: Deeper understanding of trust and 1099 tax principles and regulations. u2022 Tax Software Proficiency: Competence in using tax preparation software. u2022 Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze tax data and identify trends. u2022 Effective Communication: Clearly conveys tax information to non-experts. u2022 Time Management: Prioritizes tasks to meet strict tax deadlines. u2022 Advanced Research Skills: More adept at researching and interpreting tax code. u2022 Problem-Solving: Identifies and resolves tax issues effectively. u2022 Detailed Reporting: Ability to generate detailed tax reports. Qualifications Education: Degree in accounting or taxation, preferred Experience: u2022 2+ yearsu2019 experience preparing and reviewing trust tax returns + 1041 experience highly preferred. Will consider candidates who have some knowledge of 1041 returns if they have extensive knowledge of 1040s. u2022 Strong understanding of trust tax return concepts u2022 Extensive usage of tax software, preferably CCH u2022 Public accounting and/or bank/trust background u2022 Enrolled Agent, CPA a plus. u2022 Ability to interact with internal & external clients, assess business challenges and collaboratively define solutions to address key issues u2022 Excellent oral , written and presentation skills u2022 Self-motivated individual who can work with limited direction, while keeping key stakeholders apprised of project status u2022 Strong attention to detail and ability to spot inconsistencies in large amounts of data being reviewed u2022 Strong PC and business software application skills, including Microsoft office suite - excel u2022 Ability to mentor and assist other team members with questions and/or best practices u2022 Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, fluid environment handling multiple tasks and projects concurrently while implementing best practices and focusing on attention to detail u2022 Paramount communication skills Travel Requirements N/A Physical Demands Normal office environment The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by most people assigned to this job. Actual base salary offer is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skills, experience and actual hiring location.
