Youu2019ll be accountable for schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks, as you gain familiarity with the clientu2019s expectations, scope, budget, and schedule. Youu2019ll also provide on-site assistance during startup, coordinate work activities with other staff members and the various discipline leads. Youu2019ll oversee designer work, provide team technical leadership, perform quality reviews of design packages, and assist directly with the more complex portions of the design process. Youu2019ll also interact directly with the client, owner, and contractors to assist construction on site. You and the other members of your team will work closely with client owners in a fast paced, dynamic environment to establish design requirements and produce construction documents.Your responsibilities will include:u2022 Engineering and design of facility power distribution systems, grounding, lighting, equipment & construction specifications and hazardous area classifications in some of the most complex industrial facilities on the planet.u2022 Evaluating the desired goal of the system and developing, designing, and selecting the required equipment or power/controls to achieve the goal.u2022 Performing calculations and evaluations in the design of equipment and systems for industrial applications.u2022 Directing activities to ensure that construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications, recognized codes and standards, and customer requirements.u2022 Maintaining effective communication with project team members and with the customer.u2022 Using engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.u2022 Performing tier reviews of project deliverables to ensure accuracy, conformance to codes, specifications, design criteria and conformance to good engineering practices.With your solid understanding of all phases of construction document production you will prepare technical specifications and documents for bidding and construction and will be our Senior Electrical discipline lead. You will also participate in project proposals, will suggest solutions to our clients to problems. u2022 Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from accredited programu2022 PE, Professional Engineer license preferredu2022 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering design of buildingu2022 Solid working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC)u2022 Ability to perform power system studies including short circuit, load flow, protective coordination, and arc flash studiesu2022 Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to less experienced staff membersu2022 Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encounteredu2022 Must also be familiar with Microsoft Office Packages (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio), Smartplant, Revit, AutoCAD and Bluebeam Revu.Ideally, youu2019ll also have:u2022 Life Science and/or advanced manufacturing facility electrical design experienceu2022 Working knowledge of Revit or BIM softwareu2022 Excellent written & verbal communication skillsu2022 Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsu2022 Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideasu2022 Displayed ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge baseu2022 Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams#LifeSciences, #Bio/Pharma, #EPCMV, #globallifescience, #electricalengineers#LI-SH1Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
